Vodacom specific

Good day,

We recently installed 4 Gcom500 controllers at our complex of 40 units and they all use Vodacom SIM cards.

It works fine for most users: a call is placed, it rings twice and then the call is ended. No money deducted and the gate opens.

But for Vodacom users, the call is answered either with a voicemail or "subscriber is unavailable" message and money/minutes are deducted from their accounts. In most cases gates still open but with some the gates remain shut. All of the complaints come from Vodacom subscribers.

We do not mind much for the way the calls are answered or ended, but it should not charge any money.

Have you encountered this problem before?

Good Morning,

We have not encountered this problem before. What I can perhaps suggest is to change network provider and test with different network provider.

Please advise us if the problem persist after changing network provider on the GCOM

Just adding to the above post, a gsm network will only send an incoming call to voice mail if the called device has no service, is busy or has a weak or intermittent signal. Its possible that the vodacom transmitter in your area has bad reception. Check the Gcom antenna and check for a loose or miss positioned sim card.
